What to Wear | Winter Wedding

Although a winter month may not be the most popular time for a wedding, we believe beautiful wedding photographs can be taken with a winter wonderland as the backdrop. And what state does winter better than Wisconsin?

Stoles, cardigans, coats, shrugs, boleros, gloves and scarves - there are many different options to choose from to keep warm while showing off your dress on your wedding day. Some of our favorite places to look for these pieces are:  Etsy, Anthropologie, ModCloth, or even your grandmother's closet and vintage clothing stores.

So cuddle up with some of our favorite cold weather fashion trends that go perfectly with a white gown. Below, you can see some of our winter brides and how they chose to stay warm in the snow.

Caitlin wore this fur stole compliments of Elements Unleashed, located in Neenah, who specializes in finding new homes for vintage fur.
Jessica borrowed her grandmother's fur stole to keep toasty warm and fashionable on her wedding day. What a great way to incorporate your "something old."
Sarah kept warm with a simple cream colored pashmina that paired perfectly with her Vera Wang dress.

And if the winter weather just doesn't work for you… there's always Mexico :)

Are you getting married in winter? If so, how will you stay warm?

Lambeau Field Wedding | Heather & Justin's stadium shoot

It's the beginning of football season! Although the Packers have their season opener in San Francisco, today we are remembering a wedding shoot at Lambeau Field. Wausau Wedding - Yawkey House | Meghan & Brian

It has been a crazy year since the last blog post. Ardent Photography is currently being re-branded so keep your eyes out this winter for a new site featuring our new logo. But in the meantime to keep your eyes satisfied we will start posting wedding photographs to celebrate first year anniversaries and sneak peaks of some weddings from this season. There have been a lot of gorgeous weddings over the last year and we want to highlight some of our favorite photographs.

It's been a year since Chicago couple Meghan and Brian tied the knot. Meghan is a style guru for searsStyle which led to their fashion inspired wedding.  She rocked hand picked accessories from Oscar de la Renta to Christian Louboutin and paired them with the elegant simplicity of JCrew. Check out some of our favorite photographs of the day featured below.

Happy one-year anniversary Meghan and Brian! We hope your Thailand honeymoon was as beautiful as your wedding day and that there are many more anniversaries to come.

Winter Engagement {Kelly & Shane}

Kelly & Shane's chilly engagement session was a fun change of pace. We started in downtown Appleton determined to shoot in places that were totally new to me. The couple was up for anything even with the low temperatures outside! Luckily, Il Angolo Resto Bar invited us in for part of the shoot and even provided Kelly and Shane with a glass of white wine - now that is hospitality!

Kelly and Shane are so in love - the are living . I am ecstatic to shoot their July wedding and sooo looking forward to working with their wedding coordinators Details, a professional planning company.

 I am working on a new look and blog to go along with the new studio. Stay tuned for updates!
